Arabic; Tunisian, Libyan or Algerian Translator

Description

Leidos is seeking highly qualified Arabic (Tunisian, Libyan, or Algerian) translators to support its National Security Programs. The linguist will perform a full range of activities in processing materials or participating in situations requiring a high level of professional capability.

We will sponsor candidates for clearances.

Tunisian, Libyan, Algerian + French.

• Translate reports/texts in electronic and hardcopy formats, accurately capturing abstract language, implications, and nuances.
• Capture geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural elements in text; adhere to target language (TL) norms and regional expressions specific to the subject field.
• Interpret accurately: primarily consecutive interpretation, with occasional simultaneous interpretation.
• Review audio or internet materials and transcribe with a high degree of accuracy and expression.
• Identify and summarize factual points and abstract concepts; triage documentation to isolate pertinent and nuanced information.
• Use reference materials effectively; possess computer skills (MS Office, internet research) to produce written translations and products.
• Maintain excellent English-language verbal communication skills for briefings.

• Attend and pass all sponsor-related training required by employment.
• No clearance is required to apply; however, TS/SCI with polygraph is required for on-contract work.
• Clearance is sponsored and upgraded after passing the required tests.

BA/BS and/or equivalent formal military training and 2–15+ years of related work experience.

All candidates must take and pass an English and an Arabic language test administered by Leidos or an accepted commercial testing vendor.

• Experience deployed as a linguist supporting contingency operations.
• Knowledge of the U.S. Intelligence Community, military, cryptologic, and law enforcement operations.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in both Arabic (target language) and English.
• Proficiency in multiple languages is strongly desired.
• Travel OCONUS is a requirement for some of the languages under this program; candidates must be able to support the contract 24/7 when on travel.

Pay Range $73,450.00 - $
