Russian​/Ukrainian Linguist

We are actively hiring a Russian/Ukrainian linguist to join our team in Reston, VA, to provide translation, transcription, and interpretation services for a government agency.

• Provide translations and summaries on various topics, including long technical translations.
• Offer oral interpretation on various topics.
• Support a government agency and office with translation, transcription, and interpretation services.
• Be willing to work anywhere in the Washington, Maryland, and Virginia (WMA) region.
• Travel several times per year for missions lasting one month or longer.

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree required;
  Master’s or Ph.D. desired.
• Minimum three years of professional translation or interpreting experience within the last five years or recent completion of an M.A. in Translation or Interpretation.
• Translation into English and source language(s); editing written products.
• Summarizing/Gisting using linguistic or cultural expertise.
• Interpretation between English and source language(s).
• Pass customer testing ILR Level 4–5 in Russian and ILR Level 3+ in Ukrainian.

• Consecutive note‑taking, conference interpreting, editing, translation quality control.
• Human Language Technology (HLT) CAT tools experience (e.g., Lilt, Microsoft Suite).
• Membership in professional associations (ATA, AIIC, TAALS, NAJIT, IAPTI, NCHIHC).

• Subject‑matter expertise in Counter‑terrorism, Cyber, and Science and Technology.
• Experience with Triage.
