Bilingual Linguist; Arabic​/French

Job Overview

Bilingual Linguist (Arabic/French) position  role requires expertise in translation, interpretation, transcription, and gisting across Arabic, French, and English. Travel to OCONUS and CONUS is required in accordance with customer discretion.

• Translate materials from Arabic & French into English and vice versa, capturing nuances, cultural references, and contextual accuracy.
• Provide consecutive interpretation, with occasional simultaneous interpretation as needed, maintaining high fidelity and fluency.
• Listen to audio or review internet-based content and transcribe accurately, produce high-quality English-language reports and demonstrate nuanced understanding of dialectical variations.
• Identify and summarize key facts and abstract concepts, prioritize and extract critical information from large datasets, using reference materials to support quality output.

• No clearance required to apply.
• Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, fully adjudicated before work begins. Leidos will sponsor candidates after successful language testing.

• Bachelor’s degree and 4-8 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 2-6 years of experience (additional years may be considered in lieu of a degree).
• Translation and/or interpretation degree highly desired.
• HLT experience preferred.
• Primary language proficiency or higher on a Leidos-administered test.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic online research.
• Must complete and pass Leidos-administered language tests or equivalent commercial testing vendor.

• Experience supporting contingency operations as a deployed linguist.
• Familiarity with the U.S. Intelligence Community, military operations, or law-enforcement environments.
• Ability to brief and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Proficiency in multiple languages considered a strong asset.

• Must attend and pass all required sponsor training.
• Must pass a medical laboratory and/or physical screen as required by the program.
• Must complete required weapons training.
• Travel to OCONUS/CONUS required; candidate must support contract 24/7 while traveling.
