Greenblum & Bernstein ("G&B") is a mid-size Intellectual Property law boutique located in Reston, VA, representing companies all over the world. We are seeking a full-time experienced litigation Paralegal to work in the office three days per week or more as needed. Essential FunctionsResponsibilities of the Paralegal include but are not limited to:
- Assisting attorneys with litigation matters, including document and file management such as interacting with web-based document service providers and handling document ingest from client files into the database as well as document productions during the course of the litigation; in drafting pleadings and document discovery; assisting in legal research; reviewing/monitoring incoming correspondence and preparing outgoing correspondence;
- Experience in patent and/or trademark federal district court litigation a plus;
- Assisting attorneys with filing, docketing, and handling post grant proceedings before the USPTO;
- Organizing, managing, and updating client files and pleadings, ECF filing papers in Federal Court;
- Scheduling and tracking depositions and filing deadlines;
- Providing administrative and back-up support to team and department for coverage and project assistance as needed.
The successful candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced primarily electronic environment, and independently and proactively prioritize workload to meet filing due dates and other deadlines. Excellent communication (oral and written) skills, organizational skills, the ability to work in an environment with due dates, and attention to detail are required. Must be reliable regarding attendance.
RequirementsEducation:
Associates or Bachelor’s degree;
Paralegal Certificate or equivalent optional.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years district court litigation experience required, patent litigation experience preferred.
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), web-based document management systems, file management, calendaring, Adobe and other software
