This role supports attorneys handling a broad range of property-related matters for clients engaged in commercial real estate deals. The work centers on transactions involving business properties across multiple asset classes, including office, industrial, retail, and technology-focused spaces, and spans activities related to buying, selling, developing, and leasing real estate.
Key Responsibilities- Provide hands‑on assistance throughout the lifecycle of real‑estate matters, from early planning stages through final execution.
- Support deals involving asset transfers, leasing arrangements, and financing transactions.
- Organize and oversee the review process for diligence materials.
- Examine title commitments and survey documentation for accuracy and issues.
- Facilitate escrow‑related processes and communications.
- Request, collect, and evaluate third‑party materials such as surveys, lien searches, and UCC filings.
- Analyze agreements related to tenancy, property operations, and vendor services.
- Research public property and tax records to confirm ownership details, financing interests, encumbrances, and access rights.
- Assemble and maintain closing timelines, prepare signature‑ready materials, and follow up on outstanding obligations after closing.
- Prepare written communications and contribute to drafting transaction‑related documentation.
- Work with registered agents and service providers to secure entity records, including formation documents and certificates evidencing legal status.
- Prepare lease modifications and concise summaries of leasing documents.
- Take on supplemental assignments as directed by the real‑estate group or paralegal leadership, including participation in volunteer legal initiatives.
- Completion of an undergraduate degree.
- Prior experience supporting commercial property matters, typically one to three years.
- Availability to work extended hours as needed, sometimes with limited advance notice.
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication.
- Exceptional organizational skills and precision, with the capacity to juggle competing deadlines.
- Professional discretion and the ability to build productive relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.
- Comfort working autonomously and collaboratively in a high‑energy setting, while remaining composed and solutions‑oriented.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office applications; advanced spreadsheet skills are a plus.
