Position Summary
The Logistics Manager Specialist provides expert logistics management and supply chain advisory services to the Supply Chain Management Group (SCMG) s role advises on strategic sustainment acquisition phases of assigned weapon systems, programs, or major equipment, and leads stakeholders through the implementation of sourcing strategies using the eight-step strategic sourcing process. The LMS supports continuous process improvement efforts to streamline contracting and sustainment activities across the enterprise supply chain.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, manage, and coordinate life‑cycle logistics support within strategic sustainment acquisition activities for the enterprise Supply Chain.
- Develop, publish, and maintain supply chain strategies and associated implementation plans supporting contractual, financial, and technical aspects of the acquisition life cycle.
- Lead members and stakeholders through the eight-step strategic sourcing process and drive continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Conduct analysis of past, current, and projected performance and spend data to recommend the best overall sourcing strategy for the portfolio.
- Prepare presentations, papers, and other correspondence to support logistics execution and leadership decision‑making.
- Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and other forums supporting AFSC programs and weapon system sustainment requirements.
- Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced government and contractor personnel in the functional area.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Air Force / DoD supply chain management, logistics, or acquisition sustainment.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance required (no interim clearance provision); must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
- Ability to pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) for access to Government information systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing reports, briefings, and correspondence for Government stakeholders.
- Proficiency with standard Government logistics and data systems (training provided on Government-specific tools).
- Ability to work on-site, co-located with Government personnel.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Location:
Georgia - Occasional travel may be required with advance Government approval.
