* * to join our Shared Services Procurement organization. In this role, you'll be part of a collaborative team that plays an important role in helping Leidos programs deliver solutions for some of our customers' most critical missions.

As a Buyer, you'll manage a diverse portfolio of procurement activities supporting programs and internal customers across the company. You'll work directly with suppliers and cross-functional teams to source materials, equipment, and services; evaluate supplier proposals; negotiate pricing and terms; and place and administer purchase orders.

* ** 2. Primary Responsibilities*
* As a Buyer, you will:

+ Manage assigned procurement requirements from receipt through purchase order award, administration, and closeout, as applicable.

+ Partner with program teams and internal customers to understand purchasing requirements, priorities, and delivery needs.

+ Develop and issue Requests for Quote (RFQs) and other supplier solicitations.

+ Identify and engage qualified suppliers and pursue competitive sourcing opportunities whenever practicable.

+ Evaluate supplier quotations and proposals for price, delivery, terms and conditions, and other business considerations.

+ Conduct price analysis and document fair and reasonable price determinations in accordance with established procedures.

+ Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, terms and conditions, and other commercial considerations with suppliers.

+ Prepare, issue, and administer purchase orders and modifications within delegated authority.

+ Monitor supplier performance and delivery commitments and proactively address issues that could affect program schedules.

+ Develop productive relationships with suppliers while serving as a trusted procurement partner to internal customers.

+ Communicate procurement status, risks, and recommended solutions to program teams and other stakeholders.

+ Identify procurement and supplier risks and collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop practical solutions.

+ Maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready procurement files and documentation.

+ Ensure purchasing activities comply with Leidos policies and procedures, contractual requirements, and applicable government procurement regulations.

+ Manage multiple purchasing actions and priorities in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.

+ Apply sound business judgment and procurement experience to independently resolve moderately complex purchasing issues.

+ Collaborate with fellow procurement professionals and cross-functional partners to accomplish team and program objectives.

+ Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, supplier performance, cost, and customer experience.

** 3. Basic Qualifications*
* To be successful in this role, you will have:

+ Bachelor's degree with  
** 2-4 years of prior relevant experience
** in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, contracts, or a related field; or a Master's degree with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.

+ Practical knowledge of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or supplier management principles and practices.

+ Experience soliciting, evaluating, and/or negotiating supplier quotations or proposals.

+ Ability to analyze supplier pricing and other relevant information to support sound purchasing decisions.

+ Ability to manage multiple assignments and competing priorities while meeting established deadlines.

+ Demonstrated ability to work independently on moderately complex assignments and exercise sound business judgment.

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively work with suppliers, program personnel, management, and cross-functional teams.

+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

+ Ability to analyze procurement issues, identify potential risks, and develop practical solutions.
