Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Director, T‑6 CLS Programs provides executive leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for all facets of the T‑6 CLS enterprise. This role holds full responsibility for program strategy, performance, customer engagement, and cross‑site alignment across multiple Naval Air Stations. The Director ensures the program meets all contractual, financial, operational, and compliance requirements while driving continuous improvement and long‑range capability development.

The Director serves as the senior customer interface, leads high‑level program reviews, and shapes enterprise‑wide decisions affecting cost, schedule, technical performance, workforce strategy, and operational tempo. This position requires deep expertise in large‑scale aviation maintenance operations, union environments, and multi‑site leadership. The Director reports directly to the VP of CNATRA Programs. While this billet focuses on the T-6 CLS contract, it is not limited to CNATRA programs, Foreign Military Sales (FMS), Business Development support, or any other requirements directed by the SVP Aerospace Systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Enterprise Program Leadership — Provide strategic oversight and direction for all T‑6 CLS operations across multiple bases, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, customer priorities, and long‑term program health.

  • Strategic Planning & Execution — Develop and execute multi‑year program strategies, resource plans, and operational roadmaps to sustain high aircraft availability and readiness.

  • Executive Customer Engagement — Serve as the senior corporate representative to CNATRA and government leadership, leading executive‑level reviews, negotiations, and strategic discussions.

  • Contract & Financial Stewardship — Oversee contract performance, major modifications, proposal development, and financial planning. Influence P&L outcomes through cost control, forecasting, and risk management.

  • Cross‑Site Standardization — Ensure consistent maintenance management practices, quality standards, and operational procedures across all T‑6 CLS locations.

  • Organizational Leadership — Lead, mentor, and develop senior managers and supervisors. Ensure staffing, qualifications, certifications, and training meet all contractual and regulatory requirements.

  • Continuous Improvement — Evaluate systems, processes, and performance data to drive enterprise‑level improvements in capability, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.

  • Regulatory & Safety Compliance — Ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, labor laws, CBA requirements, and all DoD/OPNAV maintenance standards.

  • Union Engagement — Participate in high‑level negotiations with IAM and ensure consistent, compliant labor relations across sites.

  • Executive Reporting — Oversee accuracy, quality, and timeliness of all technical reports, data submissions, and official correspondence.

  • Special Assignments — Execute enterprise‑level initiatives and tasks assigned by the VP of CNATRA Programs.

    Material & Equipment Used:

  • Standard executive‑level office systems including Microsoft Office 365, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, and enterprise reporting tools.

    Working Environment:

    Work may occur in office settings, hangars, flight lines, or outdoor environments with exposure to noise, weather, fumes, or electrical hazards.

    Physical Requirements

    Primarily office‑based with occasional travel to operational sites. May require lifting up-to 50 lbs and performing visual tasks requiring depth perception and focus.

Qualifications Education &

Certifications:
  • 15+ years of aviation leadership, including senior‑level management of large, multi‑site flight/maintenance operations (USN/USMC experience preferred).
