Reston Hospital Center, part of the HCA Virginia Health System, is seeking an RN Clinical Coordinator for our Medical Unit. In this leadership role, you will coordinate patient care, support clinical staff, and ensure adherence to evidence-based practices and regulatory standards. You’ll collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to drive quality outcomes and an exceptional patient experience. Responsibilities- Coordinate daily clinical operations and patient flow on the Medical Unit
- Oversee and support delivery of safe, evidence-based nursing care
- Serve as a clinical resource for nurses and interdisciplinary team members
- Assist with complex assessments, interventions, and care planning for medical patients
- Organize patient assignments and adjust staffing in collaboration with leadership
- Precept, mentor, and support onboarding of new nurses and support staff
- Promote adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and performance initiatives
- Facilitate effective communication among nurses, physicians, and ancillary departments
- Support discharge planning and patient and family education
- Contribute to evaluation and coaching of staff to enhance performance and professional growth
- Acute care clinical assessment and critical thinking
- Medical-surgical nursing skills
- Care coordination and patient flow management
- Electronic health record (EHR) documentation
- Medication administration and safety practices
- Leadership and team coordination
- Precepting and staff mentoring
- Interdisciplinary communication and collaboration
- Patient and family education
- Quality improvement and patient safety methodologies
- Time management and task prioritization
- Knowledge of hospital policies and regulatory standards
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Specialty certification in medical-surgical nursing (e.g., CMSRN) preferred
- Prior charge nurse or coordinator experience preferred
