Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
Reston, VA
This is a 13-week contract position.
19:00 - 07:00
The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse will provide essential care for women during labor and delivery, ensuring the safety and well-being of both mothers and newborns in a fast-paced clinical setting. This position requires expertise in circulating for C-sections and managing high-acuity scenarios, as well as proficiency in IV drips including magnesium.
Responsibilities
- Assist in labor management and delivery processes, including vaginal births and C-sections.
- Monitor fetal heart rates and manage maternal conditions during labor.
- Administer medication and IV therapies as prescribed.
- Provide postpartum care and education to new mothers.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for optimal patient outcomes.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current RN license and BLS certification.
- ACLS and NRP certifications required.
- Experience in a fast-paced Labor and Delivery unit.
- Previous experience in scrub and circulating roles in the OR is beneficial.
