Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room

Location:

Reston, VA

Unit Composition:

• Number of Beds: 18
• Staff Composition: A mix of Registered Nurses (RNs) and Surgical Technicians.
• Day Shift Roles:
  Scrub and Circulator for 18 rooms, Charge RN, Service Line Experts/Support, and OR Support Technicians.
• Night Shift Roles:
  Scrub and Circulator, trauma team, and additional on-call teams.

Patient Ratios:
To be determined based on unit needs.

Type of Equipment:
Standard operating room equipment and instruments.

Electronic Medical Records (EMR):
Meditech

Required Skill Set:

• Level 2 trauma experience is a must.

Preferred Skill Set:

• Expertise in spine and orthopedic procedures.

Typical Procedures:

• Spinal fusion and total joint replacements
• Orthopedic trauma surgeries
• Da Vinci Robot procedures such as prostatectomy, colectomy, and gastric bypass

Ideal candidates should demonstrate a strong ability to work as a team player within a dynamic clinical environment.

Certifications

Required:

• BLS Certification
• Certifications relevant to the role in alignment with state and federal regulations (e.g. CST, RN License)

Floating Areas:

• OB Operating Room as needed.

Dress Code:

Scrubs will be provided by the facility.

Guidelines and Policies:

Dress Code, Attendance, and other unit policies will be reviewed on the first day of the contract.

Work Schedule:

Willingness to work weekends and nights to cover vacancies may be required. Additional shifts may be necessary to meet staffing needs.

Experience

Required:

A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required for applicants.
