Food Safety Auditor
The Food Safety Auditor is responsible for assessing and ensuring compliance with standards related to food safety, quality, and management systems, such as FSSC 22000 (Food Safety Management System), ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) and other food safety standards (Desirable: HACCP, GMP etc.). The auditor conducts second‑party audits or performs third‑party certification audits as required and provides findings/observations to ensure conformance to the criteria of audit prior to recommendation for certification, ensuring safe and high‑quality food production and distribution.
The auditor will play a crucial role in ensuring the organization’s continual improvement and meeting the objectives and demonstrating conformance to the requirements of the standards. Further, this role plays a vital part in ensuring food safety, quality, and compliance across industries, contributing to consumer trust and public health.
- Plan and schedule food safety and quality audits based on organizational needs and certification requirements.
- Conduct thorough on‑site and remote audits of food industry production facilities, supply chains, and management systems.
- Review documentation, records, and processes to ensure compliance with applicable ISO or other standards related to the food sector.
- Assess the implementation and effectiveness of food safety and quality management systems.
- Identify non‑conformities, areas of improvement, and best practices in alignment with applicable standards.
- Verify corrective actions and preventive measures taken by organizations.
- Prepare detailed audit reports highlighting findings, observations, and recommendations.
- Communicate audit results to clients, management teams, and stakeholders.
- Follow up on corrective actions to address non‑conformities for satisfactory resolution.
- Stay updated on changes in ISO standards, food safety regulations, and industry trends.
