Role Overview
Program Security Officer, on‑site for a customer within the intelligence community. The role provides security expertise to division leadership, project leads and staff, and supports SAP (Special Access Program) processes and compliance.
Responsibilities- Work on‑site with the customer and the SAP security team.
- Provide expertise and guidance to office leadership and staff on SAP security practices.
- Develop and enforce control procedures, badge access and accredited space policies.
- Validate candidate nominations, collect required information, implement processes and review documentation to support program access.
- Oversee reporting and processing of foreign travel, foreign contacts, foreign associates and adverse financial matters.
- Assess and advise customer and contractor sites on physical security for SAPF accreditation.
- Author, review and coordinate approvals of SAP Security Classification Guides.
- Investigate, process and provide guidance for security infractions and incidents.
- Conduct classification reviews and provide guidance for SAP data and materials.
- Ensure proper handling and accountability of classified documents and materials.
- Conduct functional area Staff Assistance Visits (SAVs) and advise mission partners and contractors to ensure SAP security policy compliance.
- Provide feedback to the Government on tools and resources needed for compliance with current security policies and procedures.
- Provide security education and training to briefed program personnel.
- Active TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance with CI Polygraph.
- Five years of experience as a security manager for the IC or DOD.
- Experience with JPAS, Scattered Castles and other clearance eligibility tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience providing all‑encompassing security oversight in a Special Access Program.
- Experience as a Facility Security Officer (FSO).
- Industrial Security Professional (ISP) certification.
- Extensive experience incorporating all Intelligence Community Directives, Department of Defense Directives and Manuals, and governing Special Access Programs and National Industrial Security Program requirements.
Base pay in the Washington, DC metropolitan area ranges from $83,000 to $122,100 annually. Final offer will be based on experience, qualifications, skills, location and market conditions. Candidates meeting the minimum requirements should not expect compensation at the top of the range.
