The Opportunity

To support our continued growth, VMG is seeking experienced Commercial Plumbing Mechanics to join our field teams throughout the DMV region.

This position is responsible for installing commercial plumbing systems on new construction and renovation projects. Our Plumbing Mechanics work closely with foremen and other field professionals to complete installations safely, accurately, and according to schedule.

The ideal candidate has hands-on commercial plumbing experience, can confidently interpret plumbing drawings, and takes pride in delivering quality craftsmanship.

  • Multifamily and mixed-use developments

  • Universities and educational facilities

  • Healthcare and medical buildings

  • Office buildings and tenant improvements

  • Hospitality and hotel projects

What You'll Do Plumbing Installation & Field Execution
  • Install commercial plumbing systems, including domestic water, sanitary, and storm piping

  • Perform plumbing layout, rough-in, and installation according to approved drawings

  • Install piping, fixtures, valves, supports, and related plumbing components

  • Measure, cut, thread, assemble, and install piping materials

  • Read and interpret plumbing drawings, construction documents, and project specifications

  • Coordinate installation activities with foremen, field crews, and other trades

  • Communicate material needs, field conflicts, and installation concerns promptly

Safety, Quality & Productivity
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and plumbing equipment safely

  • Inspect completed work for proper installation, alignment, and workmanship

  • Follow company safety policies and applicable jobsite requirements

  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas

  • Protect installed materials and completed work from damage

  • Work efficiently with the field team to meet project schedules and production goals

What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 2 years of commercial plumbing experience

  • Hands-on experience installing plumbing systems in commercial buildings

  • Experience with rough-in, domestic water, sanitary, and storm piping systems

  • Ability to read and interpret plumbing or construction drawings

  • Knowledge of commercial plumbing materials, tools, and installation methods

  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and installation equipment

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a field crew

  • Dependability, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety

  • Ability to travel to active project sites throughout the DMV region

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
