Job Location s: US-CA-Santa Clara | US-VA-Reston | US-MD-Lexington Park
ResponsibilitiesJoin Peraton's innovative team and help modernize the Theater Mission Planning Center (TMPC) while ensuring the reliability of today's operational system. TMPC is the mission planning and execution component of the Tomahawk Weapon System (TWS).
You’ll work with experienced mentors to maintain and enhance the current system while contributing to its transformation into a next‑generation capability, growing your skills across the full technology stack.

This role may have the ability to work in a hybrid capacity but primarily on‑site in Santa Clara, CA or Reston, VA.
- Modernization Effort:
Contribute to the evolution of the system by assisting in the development of microservice‑based components that will enhance and eventually replace the legacy application. - UI‑UX Development:
Help build intuitive and responsive user interfaces using Angular, gaining hands‑on experience bringing complex data to life for end users. - Back‑End Development:
Contribute to the development and enhancement of secure, scalable services using .NET Core and C#, with Postgre
SQL as the database. - Infrastructure & Automation Exposure:
Gain exposure to CI/CD pipelines and assist with writing and maintaining Ansible playbooks for automated deployments. - Dev Sec Ops Practices:
Learn and apply Dev Sec Ops principles, supporting efforts to integrate security throughout the development lifecycle in accordance with Navy cybersecurity standards. - Agile
Collaboration:
Work within our Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment, collaborating closely with senior engineers, system engineers, and cybersecurity professionals to deliver incremental value. - System Sustainment & Support:
Assist in maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing the existing TMPC application. Support bug fixes, performance improvements, and incremental feature updates to ensure system reliability and mission readiness.
Required
Education and Experience:
- Education:
Master's degree in Computer Science or related field or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field with 2+ years of experience or Associates degree with 4+ years of experience or a High School diploma with 6+ years of relevant experience. - Programming Foundation:
Working knowledge of at least one object‑oriented programming language (e.g., C#, Java, Python). - Software Development Fundamentals:
Familiarity with debugging, testing, and maintaining applications. - Interest in Full‑Stack Development:
Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning both front‑end and back‑end technologies. - Operating Systems:
Exposure to Windows and/or Linux development environments. - Security Clearance:
Active DoD Secret Clearance.
Desired
Experience:
- Exposure to .NET Core, C#, Angular, or Postgre
SQL. - Experience with modern web development concepts, including JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue), CSS, and JavaScript.
- Understanding of microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with RESTful API design.
- Exposure to relational or No
SQL databases. - Familiarity with Dev Ops concepts, CI/CD, or automation tools such as Ansible.
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes).
- Experience with Git‑based version control systems.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium.
- Exposure to Agile methodologies; SAFe experience is a plus.
$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
