Free Wheel is looking for a Manager, Software Engineering to join our Buyer cloud (formerly Beeswax) Ad Serving team. The Ad Serving system is the backbone of the Buyer cloud platform.

It listens to billions of ad auctions per day, decides which of our hundreds of customers should participate, and executes complex bidding strategies to provide optimal results, in milliseconds.

• Manage a team of software engineers,providing them with direction, guidance, and opportunities for growth.
• Collaborate with theBuyer Cloud Product Management team  to deliver new features to Buyercloudcustomers.
• Provide guidance on technical architecture,design philosophies, and engineering practices for your team.
• Drive improvements to Ad Servingsoftwareinfrastructure.
• Ensure adherence to deadlines, specifications, and budgets.
• Review team members’ work to ensurequalityto team standards.
• Provide technical support and training in Ad Serving capabilities.
• Implement and reviewemployeeperformance metrics.
• Stay abreast of emerging trendsandtechnologies.
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

• 3+ years related experience with technical leadership.
  
  Experience in the media or advertising industry is a huge plus.
• 10+ years of overall software development experience.
• A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficientinbuilding distributed applications using object-oriented languages such as C++, Java, Rust, or Go.
• Experience in deploying and operatingapplicationsina public cloud provider.
