Data Product Engineer

Duties:
- Provide technical leadership to a team responsible for developing data products using Golang and Python
- Writing SQL queries for data exploration in Clickhouse
- Querying data using Snowflake
- Deploying data products to AWS cloud platform including EKS, EMR, RDS, and S3
- Scheduling and monitoring workflows using Airflow
- Developing dashboards using Looker
- Performing version control using Git Hub
- Building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
- Performing application monitoring and alerting using Grafana
- Apply specialized knowledge of our Data platforms
- Provide leadership throughout the design process and assists in guidance with regards to practices, procedures and techniques
- Plan and design new software and web applications
- Analyze, test and assist with the integration of new applications
- Oversee the documentation of all development activity
- Train non-technical personnel
- Assist with tracking performance metrics
- Provide guidance and support to other engineers
- Integrate knowledge of business and functional priorities
- Act as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements
- Conducts analysis to determine integration needs
- Design new software and web applications, supports applications under development and customizes current applications
- Develop software update processes for existing applications
- Assist in the roll-out of software releases
- Oversee the researching, writing and editing of documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals and formal recommendations and reports
- Keep current with technological developments within the industry
- Monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products
- Review literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects
- Assist in tracking and evaluating performance metrics
- Ensure team delivers software on time, to specification and within budget
- Work with Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements
- Test and evaluate systems, subsystems and components
- Act as a technical contact and liaison for outside vendors and/or customers
- Present and defend architectural, design and technical choices to internal and external audiences
- Train junior Software Development Engineers on internally developed software applications
- Position is eligible to work remotely one or more days per week, per company policy
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
- Seven (7) years of experience developing data products using Golang and Python
- Of which five (5) years include writing SQL queries for data exploration in Clickhouse; querying data using Snowflake; deploying data products to AWS cloud platform including EKS, EMR, RDS, and S3; scheduling and monitoring workflows using Airflow; developing dashboards using Looker; performing version control using Git Hub
- Of which two (2) years include building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins; and performing application monitoring and alerting using Grafana
