About the RoleThis position supports one or more contracts with the U.S. Federal Government. Only U.S. Citizens (naturalized or native) may apply. TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly may be required.
Key Responsibilities- Develop frameworks, automation, and tooling to foster a culture of efficiency and innovation.
- Apply technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Python to enhance developer scalability for ML Runtime Inference applications.
- Design, implement, test, document, and maintain distributed systems and software components.
- Develop products and services that empower developers to streamline interactions with the ML platform.
- Work with public clouds (IaaS, AWS, GCP) and apply capacity management principles.
- Deploy and orchestrate containers in production using Kubernetes, Service Mesh, ArgoCD, and related tools.
- Collaborate with tech leads and ML engineers to elaborate requirements and drive technical solutions.
- Own and develop features end-to-end, including infrastructure as code.
- Research, evaluate, prototype, and adopt new ML tools with reliability and scale in mind.
- Automate processes to improve productivity and address issues proactively.
- Provide on‑call support on a rotating basis.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- 3+ years of Dev Ops experience, including infrastructure automation and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong system design skills and ability to write comprehensive technical design documentation.
- Proficiency in Python programming.
- Design, implement, and maintain robust Dev Ops pipelines for deploying, monitoring, and scaling ML runtime environments.
- Experience with Kubernetes/Docker for developer scaling.
- Collaborate with ML teams to improve product and engineering efficiencies.
- Background in machine learning.
- Experience with communication protocols, RESTful services, SOA, distributed systems, and microservices.
- Building monitoring services and using tools like Grafana.
- Experience with enterprise SaaS products.
- Passion for creating and maintaining documentation and runbooks.
- Availability for on‑call support on a rotation.
- Proficiency in infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Git, Jenkins, ArgoCD).
- BS/MS in Computer Science or related field.
- Excellent problem‑solving and documentation skills.
- Experience leading or mentoring team members and facilitating collaboration.

Location:
USA.VA.Reston. Base pay range: $137,000 - $205,400 USD. Additional U.S. locations: $123,900 - $222,000 USD.
Workday requires staff to spend at least 50% of their time each quarter in the office or field.
