QA Automation Engineer

Our client, a health insurance company, is looking for a QA Automation Engineer for their Reston, VA/Hybrid location.

Responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks and test suites.
• Create and execute UI, API, regression, integration, and end-to-end automated tests.
• Develop automation scripts using Java, Type Script, Selenium, Karate, and Playwright.
• Perform database validation and backend testing using complex SQL queries.
• Validate cloud-hosted applications, services, and microservices.
• Integrate automated test execution into CI/CD pipelines.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and collaborate with developers to resolve issues.
• Participate in test planning, estimation, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to QA standards, best practices, and automation strategies.

Requirements include:

• Experience testing microservices-based architectures.
• Knowledge of performance and security testing.
• Familiarity with No

• Experience working in enterprise-scale Agile environments.
• Test reporting and monitoring tools.
• Cloud-native testing and Dev Ops practices.
• The incumbent is required to immediately disclose any debarment, exclusion, or other event that makes them ineligible to perform work directly or indirectly on Federal health care programs.
• Must be able to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities, deadlines, and workloads that can be variable for long periods of time.
• Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence.
• Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.
• 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Test Automation.
• Strong programming skills in Java.
• Hands-on experience with Type Script.
• Strong experience with Selenium Web Driver, Karate Framework, and Playwright.
• Playwright with Type Script automation framework development.
• BDD/TDD framework experience.
• Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch.
• Hands-on experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong SQL and Database Testing skills with the ability to write complex queries for data validation and backend testing.
• Experience with API testing using RESTful services.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, or Azure Dev Ops.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience with Git and version control systems.
