Job Description

Revere High School seeks a passionate and engaging High School History Teacher who believes that studying history helps students better understand the world, think critically, and become informed, active citizens. The ideal candidate creates an inclusive, intellectually challenging classroom where students analyze historical events, evaluate multiple perspectives, and develop strong reading, writing, discussion, and research skills.

Responsibilities
  • Teach history courses for grades 9-12.
  • Create inclusive, intellectually challenging classroom environments.
  • Guide students in analyzing historical events, evaluating multiple perspectives, and developing critical thinking and communication skills.
  • Integrate technology and diverse resources into lessons.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school-wide initiatives.
Qualifications
  • MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education licensure in History/Social Studies Grade 5-12 and SEI Endorsement.
  • Excellent computer/technology skills with the ability to utilize various computer software and application programs.
  • Committed to the vision of high expectations for achievement, equal access to high levels of instruction, and closing opportunity gaps.
  • Self reflective, active learner capable of interactive dialogue with all members of the school community.
  • Strong foundation in student-centered pedagogy and culturally responsive teaching practices.
  • Flexible, collaborative, with strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Job Requirements
  • Satisfactory State and Federal background checks.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
