Job Description

Revere High School is seeking a highly qualified High School Theater/Dance Teacher dedicated to providing a superior education for all students. We are seeking teachers who are passionate and dedicated to bringing the curriculum to life for each student. We want our teachers to be excited to create a positive classroom environment that prioritizes student learning and social-emotional development.

The High School Theater/Dance Teacher will teach elective courses for students grades 9-12 focused on the different elements of theater, technical theater, musical theater and dance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Licensure in Theater All Grades and SEI Endorsement
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in education or related field;
    Master’s degree preferred
  • High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment based on frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent computer/technology skills with the ability to utilize various computer software and app programs
  • Committed to the vision of high expectations for achievement, equal access to high levels of instruction, the achievement of academic and linguistic proficiency for all students, and the closing of the opportunity gap
  • A self-reflective, active learner capable of interactive dialogue with all members of the school community
  • Ability to properly manage confidential information
  • Able to supervise students of various ages in different school settings (playground, cafeteria, etc.)
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity and respect for others with the ability to establish rapport with and relate to students, caregivers, and coworkers with respect, compassion, tact and understanding
  • Strong commitment to equity, inclusion, diversity, and anti-racist practices

Welcome to Revere High School

Revere Public Schools is located adjacent to and just North of Boston, MA on the Atlantic Ocean. The district is comprised of eleven schools; six elementary, 3 middle, one high school, and one alternative middle and high school.
