Regional Nurse Manager

Reporting to the Ambulatory Associate Chief Nursing Officer, the Regional Nurse Manager provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for nursing teams across multiple ambulatory OB/GYN practice locations. This leader is responsible for fostering a culture of clinical excellence, patient safety, quality improvement, and staff engagement while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, equitable care.

The Regional Nurse Manager partners closely with Practice Managers, Medical Directors, providers, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement innovative, evidence-based nursing practices that support organizational goals, improve patient outcomes, and enhance operational efficiency.

As the Regional Nurse Manager, you will:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and operational oversight for nursing staff across multiple ambulatory OB/GYN practice locations.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop nursing staff, including competency assessments, performance evaluations, coaching, and professional development.
  • Collaborate with Practice Managers, Medical Directors, and clinical leaders to improve workflows, optimize patient care, and support practice operations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, organizational, and professional nursing standards through ongoing monitoring and audits.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing policies, procedures, protocols, and standing orders.
  • Lead evidence-based practice initiatives that improve quality, patient safety, efficiency, and clinical outcomes.
  • Develop and standardize nursing workflows and clinical processes across practice sites.
  • Support population health initiatives, value-based care strategies, quality improvement efforts, and patient experience programs.
  • Conduct regular leadership rounds to support staff, identify opportunities for improvement, and promote a positive work environment.
  • Partner with the Ambulatory Education Department to assess educational needs and coordinate orientation, clinical training, and ongoing professional development.
  • Participate actively in departmental, service line, and organizational leadership meetings.
  • Lead the management of safety events, including investigation, documentation, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Develop and monitor nursing budgets, oversee nurse visit volumes, and identify opportunities to optimize nurse billing and revenue cycle performance.
  • Lead organizational change initiatives using evidence-based change management principles.
  • Foster collaboration, accountability, engagement, and teamwork while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Build effective relationships across disciplines and communicate collaboratively with providers, operational leaders, and community partners.
  • Champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive care in all aspects of nursing leadership.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and union leadership while ensuring compliance with labor agreements and organizational policies.
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and progressive discipline when appropriate to support employee growth and accountability.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of NLN Accredited School of Nursing - Bachelor of Science in Nursing required, Master's Degree preferred
  • Current or conditional Massachusetts RN license
  • American Heart Association BLS Provider certification
  • 5 years' clinical experience in Ambulatory Department Required
  • Demonstrated leadership and management abilities
