We are seeking a Senior Auditor with at least three years of public accounting or relevant audit experience to join our assurance team.
The Senior Auditor will take an active role in planning, performing, and completing audit and assurance engagements for a variety of clients. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day engagement activities, performing and reviewing audit procedures, supervising and developing staff, and communicating directly with clients throughout the engagement.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in audit and accounting, is comfortable taking ownership of assigned engagements, and is ready to continue developing toward an audit manager role.
Responsibilities Audit and Assurance- Coordinate and perform day-to-day audit fieldwork from planning through engagement completion
- Perform and document audit procedures in accordance with applicable professional standards and firm methodology
- Identify and assess risks of material misstatement and design appropriate audit procedures in response
- Obtain and document an understanding of clients' internal controls and significant transaction cycles
- Perform substantive testing, analytical procedures, walkthroughs, and tests of controls as applicable
- Identify audit findings, accounting issues, and internal control deficiencies and communicate them to engagement management
- Assist with financial statement preparation, including footnotes and required disclosures
- Research accounting and auditing matters and document conclusions using appropriate authoritative guidance
- Monitor engagement progress and communicate potential issues, delays, or budget concerns to the engagement manager or partner
- Serve as a primary day-to-day contact for clients during fieldwork
- Coordinate client requests and follow up on outstanding documentation
- Supervise and review the work of staff auditors assigned to engagements
- Provide timely, constructive feedback and coaching to less experienced team members
- Assist managers and partners with engagement planning, scheduling, and completion
- Help ensure engagements are completed efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with established deadlines
- Apply knowledge of U.S. GAAP and generally accepted auditing standards to client engagements
- Identify accounting and financial reporting issues and research appropriate treatment
- Apply an understanding of financial statement presentation and disclosure requirements
- Maintain awareness of new accounting and auditing standards and their potential impact on clients
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required
- Master's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred
- Three or more years of audit, assurance, or public accounting experience required
- Experience working with clients across multiple industries preferred
- CPA license (or active progress toward CPA licensure) preferred
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with audit software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to supervise and develop junior staff
