The Senior Manager, Government/Commercial Pricing and Contracting Analytics is an important role within the Market Access organization. This position shall generate key insights and in conjunction with 3rd party vendors assist in administering Commercial, Chargeback and other key payer arrangements. The Senior Manager shall provide support for contract negotiation efforts with government and commercial Payers by reviewing contract redlines, developing contract proposals, analyzing data, and gaining the necessary approvals for alignment.
This position will work cross functionally with business partners across the organization to provide insights related to Payer contract performance.
- Performs extensive payer contract analysis of volume, discounts and ensures all proposed agreements are net sales positive to the organization compared to the next best alternative
- Tracks performance of contracted customers to identify opportunities to maximize Net Sales including analysis of chargeback discounts/volume
- Leads the analysis of data related to established Value Based Rebate Contracts (VBC) to evaluate compliance and validate additional earned value. Assists Senior Director, Pricing and Contracting in working with key stakeholders to propose new mechanisms of VBC arrangements to expand opportunities within the payer accounts.
- Under the direction of Senior Director, collaborates with Finance during Monthly Close, FDR and LRP process to accurately account and accrue for all discount levels for contracted customers and new contract opportunities
- Creates reports to analyze trends and investigate discrepancies/outliers and proposes adjustments
- Works cross functionally with national account directors and internal stakeholders to evaluate future contract opportunities and ensure bids are completed accurately, timely, and within approval guidelines
- Reviews and gains required approvals for all key contract terms and conditions with key internal stakeholders
- Responds to various stakeholder questions and inquiries regarding contract terms and conditions
- Manages contract requests and ensures all contract data and information is appropriately updated
- Provides support for all Contracting and Pricing Executive approval Committee meetings (CPC)
- Reviews customer invoices and processed claims administered by 3rd party vendor to ensure payment accuracy
- Creates executive summary reports highlighting key performance indicators for all executed payer contracts and Industry Pricing Reports for Market Access Team.
- Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline (Masters Degree a plus)
- 5+ years of relevant work experience
- 3+ years of government pricing and commercial contract experience
- Previous contract development or related experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
- Demonstrated knowledge of current policies and guidelines as it relates to contracts, rebates and services in the managed care environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with little supervision
- Ability to adapt well under pressure
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities and responsibilities simultaneously and follow-through on issues in a timely manner
