Job Summary

Headwaters Construction Company is seeking an experienced Commercial Superintendent. In general, the Commercial Superintendent is to coordinate operations and oversee workers/laborers at a construction site, and is ultimately responsible for the supervision of the actual physical construction of the project in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. The superintendent directs the day to day work activities at the job site with the goal to have the subcontractors turn out quality work for the lowest possible cost in the shortest possible time in the safest possible manner.

It is the superintendent’s duty to ensure the constant flow of personnel and materials, to plan the work far enough in advance so that the proper craftsmen will be where they are required, and to ensure that the specified materials will be available for them. The superintendent is well-organized, hands‑on, and values safety above everything else.

What You Need
  • 4+ years experience as a Superintendent
  • Bachelors Degree in Construction Management Preferred
  • In‑depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines
  • Advanced understanding of trades
  • Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints
  • Problem‑solving abilities
  • Ability to communicate and lead effectively
  • Ambitious, active, and hardworking
Responsibilities
  • Generate and manage three‑week rolling schedule
  • Conduct and attend weekly coordination meetings
  • Guarantee standards are met for quality construction
  • Motivate and lead subcontractor tradesmen
  • Provide expertise regarding construction means and methods
  • Generate and monitor punch list for each subcontractor
  • Above all, maintain a safe construction site at all times
