Position Overview
The Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager / Construction Procurement Cost Analyst is responsible for managing project achievement estimates and developing should‑cost models, with a strong emphasis on Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems. Cleanroom experience is highly desirable, spanning MEP, tool installation, Civil, Structural, and Architectural scopes, as well as equipment, spares, and facilities expense projects.
Responsibilities- Manage the delivery of project achievement estimates through multiple phases.
- Coordinate with third‑party PQS or equivalent providers to ensure timely delivery and alignment with Micron standards.
- Define estimating tasks, due dates, templates, and work breakdown structure alignment, and ensure reconciliation between EPC, AE, and PQS estimates while identifying gaps, risks, and next steps.
- Support value engineering efforts and establish and track Target Value Design and affordability targets in collaboration with project teams.
- Perform category cost analysis across construction, tool installation, equipment, spares, and facilities projects, including development and maintenance of labor, material, and installation should‑cost models.
- Benchmark costs across regions and sites, track budget versus actual performance, and conduct market analysis to support data‑driven decision‑making.
- Identify, assess, and validate cost and reporting data.
- Oversee centralized cost repositories and pricing databases.
- Develop dashboards and summaries that share operational and financial insights with collaborators and leadership.
- Partner closely with Construction, Procurement, Category Managers, Program Managers, and other functions to support global and regional process improvement initiatives and facilitate strategic discussions and action‑item tracking.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Eight or more years of relevant experience in cost management, quantity surveying, construction procurement, or analytics within large capital project environments.
- Strong experience supporting MEP systems in cleanroom, hospital, pharmaceutical, or high‑tech manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated experience in construction procurement, should‑cost methodology, and large‑scale capital delivery programs.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and presentation software for managing and analyzing complex cost data.
- Semiconductor or advanced manufacturing construction experience.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and financial modeling capabilities.
- Experience with SQL, Python, Tableau, or Power BI to support advanced analytics, reporting, and automation.
- Ability to build concise, executive‑level presentations and communicate complex cost insights to senior collaborators.
- Strong collaborator management, consulting skills, and understanding of balanced procurement and ESG trends.
- Comfort working in a fast‑paced, global environment and supporting occasional travel.
