Senior Field Service Engineer – Pharmaceutical Process Equipment

Remote in Raleigh, NC (or within a 1‑2 hour radius)

About the role

Be part of bringing European market‑leading sterile technology to the United States. As a Senior Field Service Engineer, you won’t just support our customers in the field – you will help lay the foundation for our new US operations decisively. In this unique role, you’ll combine hands‑on installation, commissioning, and servicing of sophisticated pharmaceutical equipment with broader responsibilities to help establish the company’s US subsidiary.

From coordinating logistics and defining processes to running, supporting office and warehouse setup, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our presence in North America. One central role in this process will be the build‑up of a powerful service team itself. This is a tremendous opportunity for an experienced, motivated professional who is excited to grow into a leadership role – potentially evolving into Head of Service as our team expands.

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for all local operational needs, collaborating closely with colleagues in Europe.
  • Document and track customer interactions, service activities, and equipment performance.
  • Team build and lead.
Leadership & Growth
  • Develop processes and standards that will scale as the business grows.
  • Play an active role in recruiting and mentoring future service technicians and engineers as the US organization expands.

Your profile
  • Technical degree or equivalent training in mechanical engineering, plant engineering, mechatronics, electronics, or a comparable field.

  • Experience working independently in dynamic environments with high customer expectations.
  • Strong organizational skills and the initiative to take ownership of operational challenges.
  • A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset—able to anticipate needs and drive continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer‑oriented, professional demeanor.
  • High willingness to travel throughout the US (approx. 70–80%) with frequent visits to customer sites, particularly in the Raleigh, NC region, but also regularly to Europa / Germany for training purposes.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • A pivotal role in establishing US operations for a European industry leader in sterile technology.
  • A unique mix of field service work and the chance to shape operational processes for a growing subsidiary.
  • Clear path to grow into a Head of Service role with management responsibility as the US team expands.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits.
  • The opportunity to work with advanced technology in a collaborative, international environment.
