Your Responsibilities as a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer
- Design and support municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment facilities, pump stations, pipelines, storage facilities, and related systems.
- Perform engineering calculations, hydraulic analyses, and evaluations to support planning, design, and operational improvements.
- Prepare technical memoranda, engineering reports, calculations, construction drawings, specifications, permit applications, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to develop practical and cost‑effective engineering solutions.
- Support project management activities, including project schedules, budgets, resource coordination, and deliverables.
- Work closely with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout project development and execution.
- Conduct field investigations, facility assessments, site visits, data collection, and system evaluations.
- Provide construction administration support, including submittal reviews, responding to contractor inquiries, construction observation, and startup assistance.
- Assist with proposal development, scopes of work, project budgets, and schedules for new and existing clients.
- Present technical findings and recommendations to clients, regulatory agencies, and project teams.
- Support and mentor junior engineering staff while contributing to a collaborative and growth‑oriented team environment.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred, or ability to obtain Idaho licensure within 12 months.
- 5+ years of experience in water and wastewater engineering, infrastructure design, and project delivery.
- Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, collection and distribution systems, pump stations, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Experience supporting projects through planning, design, permitting, and construction phases.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or related Engineering discipline.
- Strong technical writing, communication, and client relationship skills.
- Experience working within a consulting engineering environment is preferred.
- Experience with hydraulic modeling, infrastructure master planning, treatment process evaluations, or facility assessments is a plus.
