Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Medical Records Clerk to join our team!
JOB SUMMARYReviews medical records after discharge for completeness in compliance with the hospitals bylaws, federal and state requirements. Assures that patient’s abstracts are correctly entered into the chart deficiency system. Monitors accounts being admitted daily for duplication of medical records numbers, along with checking patients discharge status when assembling the chart. Ensures that all transcribed reports are filed in a timely manner in the charts.
Communicates with physicians about delinquent reports. Accountable for the accurate transcription of dictated reports. Assures the completion of incomplete medical records within the time frame as specified by the medical staff rules and regulations. Is familiar with requirements of the state guidelines of time frames for processing of the charts such as the History and Physical and Operatives report time frames allowed.
Also knows Medical Record content, maintenance and retention of records

Education/CertificationHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED).
ExperienceOne to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Equipment/TechnologyAbility to use hospital information system, and operate basic computer functions and software.
Language/CommunicationAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals along with the ability to write routine reports and correspondence, ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Mental CapabilitiesAbility to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form along with the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
InterpersonalAbility to work well with others.
