User Experience Designer (Mobile Application)

Group Passport seeks to provide end-to-end payment processing and communications for groups across the 21-30 age demographic. With a mission to create a one-stop mobile application that merges itinerary mapping with social media-like chat features.

The Role:

We are seeking a talented and versatile UI/UX Designer with experience building financial technology applications. You will play a crucial role in crafting the user experience and visual design of our premier mobile application, from conception to beta. This opportunity has a guaranteed career path to attaining C-suite status upon launch in mobile application markets.

Responsibilities:

• Information Architecture + Wire framing:
  Develop clear and logical information architecture, user flows, and site maps. Create low-fidelity wireframes and prototypes to communicate design concepts and test usability early in the process.
• UI Design + Prototyping:
  Design high-fidelity user interfaces (UIs) that are visually appealing, on-brand, and consistent with iOS (Human Interface Guidelines) and Android (Material Design) principles. Create interactive prototypes to demonstrate functionality and gather feedback.
• Interaction Design:
  Define intuitive and engaging interactions, animations, and transitions to enhance the user experience and delight users.
• Design System Development:
  Contribute to and maintain a comprehensive design system, ensuring consistency, scalability, and efficiency across the application.
• Collaboration + Communication:
  Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into user-centered designs. Ability to meet with co-founders and essential personnel on a pre-determined basis to provide status updates + demos for stakeholders.
• Usability Testing + Iteration:
  Plan and conduct usability testing sessions, analyze results, and iterate on designs based on user feedback and data.
• Accessibility:
  Ensure all designs adhere to accessibility best practices and guidelines to create an inclusive experience for all users.
• Industry Trends:
  Stay up-to-date with the latest UI/UX trends, technologies, and best practices, particularly within the fintech space.
• Confidentiality + Discretion:
  Conduct business with the written understanding of reasonable discretion when discussing the product or any of it’s features, contents, and personnel attached.

Who you Are:

• 2-5+ years of experience as a UI/UX Designer, with a portfolio showcasing proof of concept and launched mobile application designs (iOS and Android).
• Proven experience designing for financial technology (fintech) applications is highly preferred.
• Expert proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
• Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, usability heuristics, and information architecture.
• Experience with user research methodologies and tools.
• Familiarity with native mobile design guidelines (Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design).
• Strong visual design skills with a keen eye for detail, typography, color, and layout.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
