We are seeking a Java Architect for a backfill position who can work independently. The ideal candidate should have experience with:

• Apache Mina, and upgrade experience
• Hibernate, and upgrade experience
• Java
• SQL 8
• MySQL
• Software Architecture & review
• AWS IoT
• AWS IoT migration

Candidates should be prepared to answer questions regarding their experience with Mina and Hibernate, including:

• The versions used and the upgrade details, including reasons for the upgrades
• The changes required in their Java programs post-upgrade
• The impact on performance after upgrades
• The testing conducted during these upgrades
• The project durations

The short-term goal is to fix issues within the current architecture, while the long-term plan involves migrating from proprietary systems to AWS IoT.

This role is for our OPx product line, a cloud-based Java application interfacing with users and remote devices running Windows and Linux. The system manages content scheduling for electronic signs, with remote devices interpreting and rendering content, and reporting status back to the backend via Apache Mina, with data stored in MySQL via Hibernate.
