Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and clear sign language interpretation during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events.
- Collaborate with teachers, students, and parents to ensure accessibility and understanding.
- Adapt interpreting styles to fit various educational settings and individual student needs.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with interpreting standards.
- Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in educational environments.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and deep understanding of deaf culture.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to travel to and from the assigned school location.
- Relevant certifications in sign language interpreting are highly desirable.
