Compensation: $23.90/hr + $2/hr shift differential.

Sunday - Thursday, 11:00 p.m.
- 7:00 a.m.
General Labor Parts Inspection Support (GLPIS) is an individual contributor role that supplies or holds hanging parts, provides materials and tools, cleans the work area and equipment, and operates equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes as required.
Responsibilities- Use various types of grinders and other tools to remove slag and mill scale from plasma and oxy/fuel cut parts.
- Verify that parts are dimensionally correct with respect to blueprints and labeled correctly.
- Touch up parts and attach by means of GMAW/MIG welding.
- Sort parts and send them to the appropriate assembly shop.
- Track labor per order appropriately.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by Department leadership.
- Read and decipher blueprints correctly.
- Use tape measures accurately.
- Make mathematical calculations in preparing product or setting up equipment.
- Set up, operate, and perform general maintenance of equipment.
- Maintain an acceptable attendance and prior employment record.
- Operate the basic functions of a personal computer.
- No degree required.
- One (1) year production experience.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, most frequent lift up to 20 pounds.
- Capable of performing simple math, fractions and fractions to decimal conversions.
- Will be able to become Valmont trained and certified in forklift operation.
- High awareness for safety at all times.
- Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required in the production facility.
- Read blueprints and specifications.
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to pass a 1G flat weld assessment.
- Ability to operate an overhead crane.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Ability to maintain an organized working environment.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- One (1) year of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner.
- Close attention to detail and follow work instructions.
