Compensation & Schedule
$26.13 per hour (+$2 per hour shift differential).
Schedule:
2nd shift Monday - Friday, 3:00 p.m.
- 11:00 p.m.
Valmont is seeking a highly motivated CNC Drill Operator in the Small Parts Fabrication department. The operator will operate upright drill presses, CNC machining centers, saws, radial arm drills and hand drills under the direct supervision of the Department Supervisor/Lead.
Essential Functions- Read and interpret production drawings and work orders.
- Use shop mathematics to lay out products, determine cutting depths, feed rates and RPM.
- Operate upright drill presses, CNC machining center, saw, radial arm drill and hand drills.
- Use measuring instruments such as protractor, framing square, tape measure, tri‑square, center finder, levers, scribes, calipers and drill gauges.
- Understand material requirements and specifications on blueprints and drawings.
- Plan the sequence of set‑ups, operations and processes to meet schedules.
- Coordinate with other personnel in the small parts area to maintain workloads.
- Maintain housekeeping and perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Document daily production in shop labor reports.
- Ensure safety and environmental practices regarding material handling, crane use, vacuum lift use, cutting torch, hot parts, lifting weight limits, eye protection and smoke control.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 6 months experience operating a CNC drill or similar machine.
- Read, write and communicate in English.
- Basic arithmetic skills.
- Ability to read a tape measure and micrometer.
- Ability to read Valmont blueprints.
- Stamina to walk and stand up to 100% of the shift.

- Previous forklift operation experience.
- Good interpersonal communication and positive teamwork.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
