Moto Operator

Job Summary

Position:
Moto Operator – 3rd Shift (Sunday – Thursday 11:00p.m. – 7:00a.m.)

Compensation: $28.57 per hour (+ $2.00 shift differential).

• Operate the Moto cell to weld the base and other components of steel square tubes.
• Load steel shafts via conveyor, weld bases, hand hole rims, and other components to complete assemblies.
• Monitor quality of incoming steel shafts and identify substandard material.
• Operate GMAW (MIG) welding equipment in flat and horizontal positions.
• Adjust welding equipment settings and operate oxy‑acetylene burners.
• Use IFS labor reporting system, standard shop forms, move tags, and blueprints.
• Use hand tools (weld, hammer, grind) and other equipment as required.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear required personal protective equipment.

• Minimum 3years of welding experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and use tape measures.
• Pass AWS welder operator qualification test for GMAW (LevelIII).
• Forklift certification within the first 90days.
• Basic knowledge of PLC‑controlled machinery setup and troubleshooting.
• Physical ability to lift, push, pull, and move objects up to 50pounds.
• Knowledge of Valmont’s quality procedures, standards, and practices.
• Prior experience as a Moto Operator or Moto Helper preferred.
• Ability to work overtime when required.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and participation in LEAN activities.
