Valley Lumber & Rental is a locally operated lumber and building supply store located in Victor, Idaho. Our team of associates has many years of combined experience in the building industry. We pride ourselves in our ability to provide superior buying power while retaining that “small town feeling”.

The Retail Sales Clerk, through knowledge of our products and services, serves as the liaison for customers and the other departments of Valley Lumber & Rental.

This full-time position reports directly to the Retail Sales Supervisor. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Perform cashier responsibilities including accepting payments and issuing receipts
• Work to understand the needs of customers and recommend product solutions
• Acquire and maintain knowledge of Valley Lumber products and services
• Stock shelves and maintain store cleanliness and organization
• Assist in inventory tracking
• Provide exemplary phone and in-store customer service
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Experience in retail sales or the building industry a bonus. Willing to train the right person.
• Excellent customer service skills, both verbal and written
• Technological proficiency with computers and ability to navigate our point of sales program
• Ability to stand for a standard shift (potentially up to 9 hours)
• Mathematical aptitude with strong attention to detail
• Organized with the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
• Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds
• Must be willing and able to work on Saturdays
• Ability to learn and retain information on our products and services
• High School Diploma or GED
