Fully Qualified Fiber/Copper Field Tech – Cable Technician, Idaho (Direct Hire)

Grid Source is seeking a qualified, fully tooled Copper/Fiber Travel Technician to join our fast‑paced and fast‑growing team!

Grid Source is a full‑service utility contractor specializing in construction for the telecommunication and broadband industries and underground construction for the natural gas distribution industry in the country. Qualified candidates must be fully tooled and have a 4WD or AWD truck, van, or SUV to carry a ladder. A 28‑ or 32‑foot fiberglass ladder with mid‑span hooks and V‑rung, proper and up‑to‑date climbing gear is also required. If you have gaffs and are experienced, please bring them along.

This is a traveling position that may require moving from one market to another with very little notice. You may also be required to work in remote areas, all subject to the client’s needs. We work weekends and in all kinds of weather conditions, so please be mindful of that before applying.

• A full understanding and intermediate to expert knowledge of DSL, POTS, copper cable diagnostics and repair, and all other facets of the copper trade. CM‑8, Go Digital, and Line Hunt experience will be a plus.
• Intermediate to expert knowledge of fiber plant, for both single‑family homes and MDU builds, and ideally some CASA, GFAST, and Business Fiber Training.
• Proficiency with your own fusion or mechanical splicer and OTDR (a huge plus).
