Position: Center Operations Manager 1

Center Operations Manager 1

Octapharma Plasma is rapidly expanding its plasma donation centers. We invite dedicated, people‑centric professionals to join our team as a Center Operations Manager 1, where you will oversee daily operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a culture of safety and excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain full compliance with state and federal regulations (FDA SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, GMP).
  • Assist in hosting internal and external inspections by regulatory agencies and customers.
  • Collaborate on quality improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.
  • Identify process optimization opportunities and develop best‑practice procedures.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with relevant departments.
  • Promote SD&O Policies & Procedures; ensure safety training and practices are followed and address safety concerns.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance of donor‑center equipment to keep it in good working order.
  • Ensure the facility is clean, well‑maintained, and properly stored for product and samples.
  • Prepare product shipments and manage product per SOPs, including unsuitability handling.
  • Help achieve targeted production quality and quantity goals.
  • Optimize operational costs, including inventory management.
  • Provide feedback for employee performance evaluations, development plans, and corrective actions.
  • Participate in employment decisions—hiring, promotions, terminations—aligned with business needs.
  • Cultivate a strong, positive culture within the donor center, exemplifying core values.
  • Ensure adherence to all HR policies and procedures (workers’ compensation, talent acquisition, benefits, ADA accommodations, etc.).
  • Assist in employee relations investigations.
  • Act as Designated Trainer, delivering on‑the‑job and certification training; assess learners’ progress and adjust methods as needed.
  • Conduct area walkthroughs to demonstrate presence and support productivity.
  • Address donor needs to foster retention and growth.
  • Report irregularities, unsafe situations, and conditions promptly.
  • Assist with payroll, scheduling, and staffing meetings to enhance efficiency.
  • Drive performance to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and proactively correct deficiencies.
  • Support marketing and advertising initiatives, collaborating with corporate departments to implement enhancements.
Qualifications
  • Trained in all production areas.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 12+ months applicable experience.
  • Up to 1 year of operations and/or process management/supervisory experience preferred.
  • Up to 1 year of people‑management experience (recruiting, training, etc.) preferred.
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast‑paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry preferred.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills required.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Experience with office software preferred.
  • Ability to work daytime, evening hours, weekends, holidays, extended shifts, and periodically after hours.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods (up to four hours).
  • Ability to tug, lift, and pull up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel.
  • Ability to enter an environment with a temperature of –40°C for short periods.
  • Occupational exposure to blood‑borne pathogens.
  • Ability to view a video display terminal less than 18” away for up to four hours.
  • Ability to perform precise tasks requiring repetitive small‑motor skills (e.g., drawing blood).
  • Ability to type and use basic computer skills.
  • Ability to use assistive devices if needed for mobility or communication.
