At the direction of the supervisor, plans & directs the agency’s media & public information program (i.e., internal newsletter, agency wide information emails & event planning & coordinating). Serves to support & act as back up to advising & consulting management personnel & Board staff regarding public relations strategies, messaging & branding. Responds to requests for speeches, presentations and public informational events.
Drafts articles for Board publications (e.g., President and Director contribution articles for Momentum Magazine). Maintains & updates internal employee websites and intranet content (e.g, utilizes Canva or Full Adobe Creator Suite or similar program). Works collaboratively with agency personnel to plan, organize & distribute employee newsletter & internal announcements.
Responsible for assisting in the creation of multimedia & content creation (e.g., photographs new staff members for internal & external use; creates short information videos for the Board’s website & internal platforms; implements, produces & manages Board’s podcast (e.g., schedules, records, edits & publishes)).
Assists in planning & coordinating staff engagement events, including logistics, communications & promotion (e.g., Employee Care Committee, Operation Feed, Combined Charitable Campaign (CCC), etc.). Assists Board staff with the setup & execution (e.g., providing audiovisual support, troubleshooting & live operation of necessary equipment) of in-person & virtual presentations (e.g., Board meetings).
Performs other duties as assigned (e.g., may represent manager on committees, meetings &/or conferences, give speeches to target audiences). Attends meetings &/or training sessions to keep current of changes in law, rules & procedures impacting assigned areas of responsibility.
30 mos. exp. in field of journalism or communication dealing in public multi-media techniques & relations, public speaking, news writing, reporting & editing or technical report translation & communication dealing in public meetings; valid driver's license.
- Or completion of undergraduate core program in journalism or communication; 6 mos. exp. in public multi-media techniques & relations in field of journalism or communication; valid driver's license.
- Or 12 mos. exp. as Public Information Specialist, 64420; valid driver's license.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
