Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Position Summary:The Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, coordination, financial performance, and execution of Geotex construction projects from preconstruction through completion. This position manages heavy civil and site development projects involving earthwork, grading, underground utilities, demolition, and related site construction while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within scope, and within budget.
Working closely with Operations, Estimating, field leadership, subcontractors, vendors, and clients, the Project Manager serves as the primary link between the office and field. This role monitors production and job costs, reviews contracts and project requirements, coordinates materials and subcontractors, manages schedules and changes in scope, supports billing and forecasting, and proactively resolves issues that could affect project performance.
The successful candidate will bring practical construction knowledge and the ability to understand how work is actually performed in the field—not simply project management methodology. The Project Manager must be able to read and interpret plans, specifications, contracts, takeoffs, production information, and cost data and use that information to make sound operational and financial decisions.
Position Responsibilities:- Manage assigned heavy civil, site development, earthwork, grading, utility, and related construction projects from turnover through closeout.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, cost projections, schedules, procurement needs, and project timelines.
- Monitor actual production against estimated production and identify cost or schedule concerns early.
- Partner closely with Superintendents and Foremen to understand field conditions, manpower, equipment, materials, and production needs.
- Review project plans, specifications, contracts, estimates, scopes of work, and other project documents before and throughout construction.
- Identify scope gaps, changed conditions, extra work, and potential change orders and ensure they are properly documented, priced, communicated, and tracked.
- Perform or review quantity takeoffs for material procurement, change-order pricing, and additional work.
- Track project costs, committed costs, quantities, production, billing, and overall financial performance.
- Assist with forecasting project profitability and anticipated cost-to-complete.
