The Reynoldsburg City Schools' Specials Teacher is responsible for planning and providing specialized, standards-based learning experiences (Innovation/Makerspace Lab) that foster the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of every student in alignment with Ohio's Learning Standards and the District's mission.

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Ohio Teaching License/Certificate for the specific subject area and/or grade level.
• Ability to pass Federal (FBI) and State (BCI) background checks.

• Master's Degree in Education or subject-specific field.
• Experience with Differentiated Instruction, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and educational technology integration.

• Align instruction with Ohio Learning Standards and the OTES 2.0 framework.
• Develop measurable learning objectives and Professional Growth Plans (PGP) based on student data.

• Employ varied instructional strategies and technology to engage learners in critical thinking.
• Implement formative and summative assessments to provide feedback and meet diverse needs (IEP, 504, EL).

• Maintain an organized, safe, and respectful classroom climate.
• Manage student transitions and behaviors effectively across various school settings.

• Manage subject‑specific equipment, inventory, and safety protocols (e.g., instruments, kilns, athletic gear).
• Organize student showcases, performances, or fitness events to foster community engagement.

• Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and interdisciplinary integration with core teachers.
• Maintain proactive communication with families regarding student progress and adhere to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct.

• Subject‑specific Ohio Learning Standards and trauma‑informed practices.

• Digital literacy, organizational management, and verbal/written communication.

• Adapt instruction for diverse learners and maintain composure in high‑energy or loud environments.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly required to communicate with others, sit or stand, and move around for extended periods. In PE and Music roles, significant physical activity, demonstrating movements, lifting equipment is required. The employee must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry over 25 pounds on occasion.

The employee may experience occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue, and may also be required to interact with unruly children. Exposure to loud environments (Music/Gym) is common.

This position may require driving to various school sites or events.
