Primary Job Function

The Reynoldsburg City Schools’ Middle Level Teacher serves as an instructional leader and mentor during a critical developmental and transitional stage for students. This role emphasizes departmentalized content expertise, developmentally responsive instruction, and targeted interventions to support academic growth, social‑emotional development, and successful progression to high school.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education.
  • Valid Ohio Teaching License for Middle Childhood (4–9), Adolescent/Secondary (7–12), or appropriate Multi‑Age licensure for specific electives.
  • Ability to pass Federal (FBI) and State (BCI) background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Project‑Based Learning (PBL), STEM, or inquiry‑based instructional models.
  • Specialized certification or coursework (e.g., Career Technical Education).
  • Demonstrated ability to support student behavior using restorative and trauma‑informed practices.
  • For Foreign Language:
    Native or near‑native fluency in the target language.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lesson Delivery
  • Plan and deliver rigorous, standards‑aligned instruction using district curriculum and instructional resources.
  • Design and facilitate inquiry‑based lessons, labs, and simulations that connect learning to real‑world applications.
Student Support & Intervention
  • Lead “Success Labs” and targeted Tier 2 intervention periods to address identified learning gaps.
  • Provide small‑group and individualized instruction to reinforce core skills and reteach complex concepts using data tools (e.g., MAP, IXL).
Classroom Environment and School Engagement
  • Establish and maintain consistent routines and expectations aligned with building‑wide PBIS frameworks.
  • Serve as a mentor and positive role model, supporting students through social‑emotional and developmental transitions.
Professional Collaboration
  • Participate actively in Teacher‑Based Teams (TBTs), Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), and professional development.
  • Maintain regular communication with families regarding academic progress and behavior using district‑approved platforms.
Compliance and Supervision
  • Supervise students in instructional and non‑instructional settings, including hallways, cafeteria, and arrival/dismissal.
  • Adhere to district policies, professional standards, and the Ohio Licensure Code of Professional Conduct.
Subject Area–Specific Technical Tasks
  • Science / STEM: Facilitate inquiry‑based learning using the Engineering Design Cycle; maintain laboratory safety standards and manage scientific equipment.
  • STEM/STEAM: Guide students through foundational coding (block‑based or text‑based) and sensor integration; troubleshoot mechanical and software issues during hands‑on robotic builds.
Knowledge,
