Job Title: Catholic School Teacher's Aide

St. Pius X School, located at 1061 Waggoner Road in Reynoldsburg, is seeking a caring, dependable, and student-focused Teacher’s Aide to support teachers and students in a faith-filled Catholic learning environment. The Teacher’s Aide works collaboratively with classroom teachers to assist with instruction, supervision, and daily classroom operations while helping students achieve academic, social, and spiritual success.

This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children while working in a supportive school community dedicated to Catholic education.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare materials for lessons, demonstrations, classroom activities, and bulletin boards.
  • Operate classroom and office equipment, including computers, printers, photocopiers, and laminators.
  • Work with students individually or in small groups for instruction, enrichment, or remediation.
  • Provide additional support to students with physical, cognitive, behavioral, or language-based needs.
  • Assist in implementing accommodations from students’ IEPs, service plans, or learning support plans.
  • Support students in the use of assistive devices and educational technology.
  • Assist teachers with grading assignments and collecting student performance data.
  • Collect and submit money for school activities, events, and fees as directed.
  • Coordinate with classroom teachers to complete daily assignments and responsibilities.
  • Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, recess, lunch, specials, field trips, and other school activities.
  • Assist with bus loading and car rider dismissal procedures.
  • Monitor student behavior and enforce school rules in a manner that promotes respect, responsibility, and the dignity of every child.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student records, academic performance, behavioral information, and all sensitive school and family matters in accordance with school policies and applicable laws.
  • Assisted with classroom instruction, small group or individual tutoring, practice, and drill.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and cheerful classroom environment.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with administration, students, families, and volunteers.
  • Assist with completing required reports, distributing them, and maintaining accurate student files.
  • Serve as a role model during meal times and interact with students appropriately.
  • Conduct clerical tasks, maintain inventory, order supplies, and ensure classroom equipment is operational.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by school administration.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or college coursework in education preferred.
  • Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or educational setting preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, students, and families.
  • Demonstrated patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
  • Commitment to supporting the mission and Catholic identity of St. Pius X School.
  • Current and satisfactory BCI and FBI background checks or the ability to obtain them.
  • Must have attended or be willing to attend VIRTUS Protecting God's Children training.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to maintain flexibility and a professional, ethical approach to assignments.
  • Knowledge of Catholic educational perspective and values.
  • Physical ability to move up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently.
Physical Strength Demands
  • Light work: lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, or negligible amounts constantly.
  • Walking or standing to a significant degree, pushing or pulling arm or leg controls, or maintaining a production pace.
  • Use of ladders, scaffoldings, poles, vehicles, equipment, machinery, and running as part of daily duties.
