Job Overview

The Dental Hygienist is a champion for healthy smiles and positive experiences, helping children build confidence and lifelong oral health habits from their very first visit. Working alongside the dentist and clinical team, this role delivers exceptional preventive care while creating a fun, welcoming environment where kids and families feel comfortable, cared for, and excited to return. Through compassion, education, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence, the Dental Hygienist plays a key role in making every visit memorable and every smile shine a little brighter.

Responsibilities

The Dental Hygienist will:

  • Deliver preventive dental care to pediatric patients.
  • Collaborate closely with the dentist and clinical team to provide comprehensive care.
  • Educate parents and children on proper oral hygiene practices.
  • Effectively manage child behavior and create a comfortable, welcoming environment.
  • Assist with patient scheduling, data entry, and overall office workflow.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and diligent record‑keeping.
  • Travel locally to other First Impressions offices as required.
Qualifications
  • Valid State of Wisconsin Dental Hygiene License.
  • CPR certification.
  • One year of dental hygiene experience preferred.
  • One year of experience working with or caring for children preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills and commitment to patient/parent satisfaction.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with and educate parents.
  • Team‑orientated, able to collaborate with coworkers to maintain steady flow of patients.
  • Exceptional behavior management skills or willingness to learn.
  • Good hand/eye coordination, manual dexterity and precision.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills.
  • Familiarity with Dentrix Ascend and Kodak Imaging is helpful.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • A current Dental Hygienist license is required.
