Description

The Orthodontic Assistant collaborates efficiently with the orthodontist and team to deliver a high standard of care to every patient. This role is responsible for providing chairside support during all orthodontic procedures while ensuring patient comfort, exceptional service, and a positive experience that fosters long‑term relationships and patient retention. The Orthodontic Assistant also supports the overall operational success of the practice through teamwork, organization, and a commitment to clinical excellence.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the orthodontist and team to provide chairside support for all orthodontic procedures, maintain patient comfort and safety, and contribute to a clean, organized clinic environment.

Requirements
  • Strong desire to work with children
  • A minimum of one year experience working with children preferred
  • Dental Assistant Certificate preferred
  • Strong customer service skills and commitment to patient/parent satisfaction
  • Must be able to communicate with co‑workers and work as a team in order to maintain a steady flow
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with and educate parents
  • Good hand‑eye coordination, manual dexterity and precision
  • Requires local travel to other First Impressions offices
  • Basic computer and data entry skills
Qualifications
  • A genuine interest in working with children and patients of varying ages and abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean, organized clinical environment
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with doctors, team members, patients, and their families
  • A positive attitude and team‑oriented mindset, along with a passion for creating a welcoming experience that makes patients feel comfortable and confident
  • A willingness to learn and grow in a clinical setting — no prior dental experience required, as we provide comprehensive training in all clinical aspects of the role
  • Experience in hospitality, customer service, or other patient‑facing roles is highly transferable and valued
