Oneida County is accepting applications to fill a part-time (60%) Finance Technician with the Oneida County Finance Department.
JOB DUTIES:
This position assists the Accountant in monitoring and maintaining financial activities for the County. This position will serve as the primary accounts payables coordinator, and other projects as assigned by the Finance Director and / or the Accountant.
Duties include:
verifies payment of invoices with accounts payable and charged to appropriate accounts; maintains, records, and monitors compliance regarding issuance of County-issued credit cards; handles communications such as emails and phone calls to the Finance Department, serves as back up to Accountant responsible for payroll and employee benefits. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND
QUALIFICATIONS:
An Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred. One to three years of progressively responsible accounting experience is required along with extensive experience in accounting software systems (i.e. Quick Books). Candidates with equivalent credentials, licensures, training, or experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job will be considered.
WAGES AND BENEFITS:
This position is Grade H on the Non-Exempt wage schedule with a 2026 wage range of $25.79 to $ 27.27 per hour plus benefits including health, dental and vision insurance, participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System and a PTO (Paid Time Off) package with the ability to carry unused PTO into future years.
WORK HOURS AND
SCHEDULE:
Position works 24 hours per week. The applicant chosen for this position will have the flexibility to establish a schedule subject to approval by the Finance Director, provided the hours fall sometime within the weekdays of Monday through Thursday during the business hours of 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Occasional Friday hours may be necessary but will not normally be required.
