Police Custodian – Part Time

The City of Rhinelander Police Department is seeking an experienced custodian to work under the guidance of the Captain of Police to carry out the following functions and duties:

• Cleans walls
• windows
• fixtures
• drinking fountains
• sidewalks and other items
• dust and polish furniture
• scrubs
• mops
• waxes
• polishes and vacuums floors
• cleans restrooms and fills soap, towel, and tissue receptacles
• locks doors and turns lights on and off as necessary
• clean designated areas of the police department, (this includes, but is not limited to, locker rooms, bath rooms, offices, hallways, interview rooms, lobby, garage, etc.)
• maintain equipment that is needed to perform custodial job functions
• perform all other duties as assigned

• High school degree or equivalent
• citizen of the United States
• ability to communicate, written and verbal, using the English language
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
• knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment
• knowledge of building and ground maintenance equipment and procedures

This position is subject to all benefits available to part-time City employees with a starting wage of $17.00 per hour.

Work hours:

Three hours per day, three days per week. Hours are flexible and to be determined upon hire.
