Registered Nurse - Wound Care

Seeking an experienced Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week outpatient wound care assignment working 4 days per week with shifts from 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM and 36 guaranteed hours per week. The RN will provide specialized wound and ostomy care in an outpatient procedural setting, collaborating closely with providers to develop and carry out individualized treatment plans. This role also includes inpatient and emergency department wound consultations as needed.

Candidates should be highly skilled in wound assessment, wound management techniques, and patient education.

Requirements:

• Active Wisconsin RN License or Compact RN License required
• BLS Certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Minimum 2 years of wound care experience or wound care certification required
• Wound and ostomy certification preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Must reside 50+ miles from facility
• Willingness to float to additional wound clinic locations as needed
• No weekends or holiday requirements

Responsibilities include wound assessments, implementation of wound care treatment plans, topical wound care, compression wrap applications, wound VAC management, total contact casting, conservative sharp wound debridement, ostomy pouching system changes, treatment of peristomal skin breakdown, inpatient and ED wound consultations, patient and caregiver education, EMR documentation in Epic, interdisciplinary collaboration, infection prevention, and supporting positive wound healing outcomes in an outpatient clinical setting.
