Trident Maritime Systems – Heavy Equipment Group is seeking a Quality Technician to join our Rhinelander, WI team. This role will work with various disciplines to meet the metrology needs of our customers and perform dimensional inspections, develop inspection reports, and maintain high quality and safety standards.
MAJOR DUTIES- Work with the Plant Quality Assurance Coordinator and all disciplines to promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the plant.
- Perform supplier source inspections.
- Complete receiving, final, and in‑process inspections using precision measuring and test equipment in a timely fashion with results easily understood.
- Control non‑conforming material and complete the defect reporting process.
- Support the Material Review Board Process.
- Prepare and deliver quality assurance related training.
- Support preventive‑corrective action requests and the supplier preventive‑corrective action request process.
- Control quality records.
- Support customer and third‑party quality audits.
- Ensure the calibration program is in conformance with established standards.
- Participate in vendor qualification and supplier quality development.
- Measure, record, and report on organization performance progress.
- Assist compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Perform internal and external quality audits.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 1+ years of experience in a quality environment.
- 3+ years minimum related experience in a fabrication environment (e.g., welding and machining of small to large equipment).
- Related technical training in business and quality in the manufacturing industry is a strong plus.
- Familiar with ISO 9001:2015 preferred.
- Microsoft Office Suite experience:
Excel, Word, Outlook required. - Experience using an ERP system and reporting.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Initiative and ability to solve problems independently.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings (both metric and English standard).
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Proficiency in using various inspection tools.
- Training in metrology and advanced drawing reading.
- Ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision.
- Climb, bend, and stoop frequently.
- Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds.
