We are seeking a Quality Engineer to work on-site at one of the following locations:
Kingsford, MI, Iron River, MI, or Rhinelander, WI with travel between plant locations as needed.
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Champions problem solving and root cause analysis activities with the plants and customers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances.
- Initiates, tracks, and works with appropriate departments to resolve CARs.
- Supports delivery, warranty, and quality improvement activities to achieve the highest quality and customer satisfaction levels.
- Identifies unique contract quality requirements and assures they are flowed down to supply chain and manufacturing.
- Conducts internal audits to identify and correct procedural, product, or process deficiencies.
- Identifies and implements continuous improvement projects.
- Drives a "Zero Defect" mentality within the organization.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of experience in a quality related role.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing (weld/machining) environment.
- H.S. diploma required, A.S. or B.S. and/or experience in related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with a formal Quality Management System.
- Advanced problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with precision tools and measuring equipment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Works well with diverse groups of people.
- Ability to function independently of direct supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- ISO led auditor certified or ability to obtain lead auditor qualification.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Job often requires long hours of sitting/computer usage. Requires the ability to walk, push, pull, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs.
